The more dysfunctional public services are the more you force people to go private and fend for themselves This moves you into the direction of Brazilification Rich people will pay for their own walled condos with private security, bulletproof cars, private healthcare, and everything will be high quality but only for the rich. At the same time the rich will build constructions to not pay tax or just flee the country because why would they not? This pushes down tax income for governments meaning they will have to increase taxes to pay for the already dysfunctional government services Meanwhile poor people get further isolated, they don't have money to go private so they rely fully on public services which are now worse than they were before. And they get isolated even more and now you have a 2-tier society of rich and poor fully divided This forces the poor to start robbing the rich and now you get even more private security and rich fleeing the country and less tax income "Brazilification" It's a vicious cycle Now if you had safe cities, great public services, great healthcare, you would never have this problem. You'd have both rich and poor participating in the functioning system. And rich would be happy to pay more because they get a great liveable society!

I think most high skilled Europeans are happy to pay (even high) taxes That is, if the government does a great job like Singapore or Dubai or Korea or Japan and most things work well You pay the government for a service and you get safe cities, great public services and great healthcare back Oh and letting people just be entrepreneurial and improve things themselves by starting businesses, taking a risk and getting rewarded for that I don't think many people in Europe can say they get any of this now though, so then your highest skilled people flee to elsewhere You can try chase them around the world and collect their money but it's kind of a scarcity/loser approach, wouldn't you want them to just not flee in the first place?

Steve was obsessed about details. Modern Apple doesn't care about details at all Developers are just a tiny sliver of society but they are trend setting and if you lose them, there's a good chance the rest of people will move on to other platforms too Apple should be studying what's happening now because add this to also investing $0 into AI (which people call a "great move" as models go open, I'm really not sure about that) they might not have a moat left I know for sure if I switch from a MacBook Pro running MacOS to a Dell XPS with Linux that will be a gateway drug for me to also move my iPhone with iOS to some great hardware phone running a great custom minimal Android install And I never even considered switching before this year!

Now I'm 75kg and very strong! Intermediate level lifting is stronger than ~50% of lifters (not society!), advanced is stronger than ~80%, elite is stronger than ~95%. If you look society wise, these lifts make me stronger than 95% of people, because most people don't even lift! I always find it funny when you post lifts you get anon accounts calling you weak, which makes no sense, just going to the gym 3x per week, you're probably stronger than 95% of people! I agree with this More testing and body scans etc will shows lots of issues that are not actually issues but might become issues the moment you start cutting in people's body But the benefits of preventative healthcare if we do it right will still outweigh the negatives of that Also with cheap and regular testing (like the Midjourney Medical scanner) you can see your body change and quickly spot irregularities Being against longevity and preventative healthcare because it has its issues is kinda like being against cars in 1900 because they kill people, they do but the benefits outweighed that over staying with horses

So me and @theannalux our trip in December last year was: 🇨🇳 Fly into Beijing (we came from Japan) Stayed in Aman Summer Palace was a cool experience (now ex Aman) Then after 2 days flew to Chengdu, stayed there a week, very fun city, we also went to see the pandas, and try the best hotpot in the world Then high speed train to Chongqing, quite a tourist place but cool for a few days, then high speed train back to Chengdu Then we flew to Shanghai and an AI company guy there kindly drove us too Hangzhou to check the AI companies there, we visited Alibaba AI very interesting If you wanna see more tourist/nature stuff Guilin is cool (big mountains) One thing to know is Google Maps is all wrong in China, because they use some GPS encryption for military reasons, so use Amap! And install Alipay, connect your payment card, via Alipay you can use lots of apps like Didi (Uber of China), many of these apps inside Alipay won't work for foreigners outside of it (or not easy) Also internet can be challenging, I got an eSIM from Airalo for Asia and it worked to go outside the firewall Also if you go with family maybe helps to find some local fixer or agent, nobody speaks English (but ppl helpful), so sometimes you can have a difficult situation if you have no Chinese speaker with you. Normally I'd not book tourist tours to for ex Chinese Wall but in China I would because it means you get essentially a local fixer/translator Food can be difficult too but if you get a good hotel you can just eat Western food there. A good China-only hotel is called Niccolo Hotels, very luxurious, clean and actually great prices too Have fun!!!!
