Notably: queues can make agents and AI apps reliable. Quality and reliability are top of mind for everyone now, including our own team. We went through 3 iterations of the infrastructure while in private beta, and we're excited for you to build 'unbreakable software' with it.

Vercel Queues is now in public beta. • Create queues and publish tasks • Control how work is consumed and retried • Get built-in durability and automatic scaling Built for apps and agents, Queues is the lower-level primitive powering Vercel Workflow. https://vercel.com/changelog/vercel-queues-now-in-public-beta

We've upgraded http://v0nanobanana.vercel.app with Nano Banana 2 via @vercel AI Gateway. What's cool about this playground is not just how convenient it is (try pasting, dragging, parallel jobs… it's good.) It's that you pay with your own @vercel AI Wallet. You sign in, then we debit your usage from AI Gateway. In this most recent iteration, you can now top up the Gateway credits directly from the app. The code is available to you so you can make your own apps where users pay for their AI inference.

📈 The Vercel support agent is now handling ~90% of customer inquiries without human intervention. Shockingly, we've been unable to upgrade to Opus 4.6 from 4.5 without measurable performance and customer sentiment degradation. The "best model" is a moving target. Bullish on AI Gateways and open AI SDKs 😉!

@Mitchell Hashimoto

I know this is pretty well established at this point, but Codex 5.3 is a much more effective model than Opus 4.6. I went back and forth on both for a bit, but haven’t touched Opus at all now for a full week. First model to get me off of Opus… ever. Good job Codex team.

𝚗𝚙𝚖 𝚒 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚝 Every company will have an agentic interface. But it won't just be on your turf, your .𝚌𝚘𝚖. It'll also be on @slack, @discord, @microsoftteams, @googleworkspace, and more. I was at a hackathon in SF the other day and I watched this unfold IRL. Many startups just presented their agents as Slack @ mentions. They incidentally tended to be the products that were easiest to grasp and adopt. Excited for the Chat SDK to do for the UI of Agents what @aisdk did for models.

@Vercel Developers

You can now write chat bot logic once, and deploy across Slack, GitHub, Teams, and Discord. We're open-sourcing a new Chat SDK, a unified TypeScript library to build for many chat platforms with a single codebase. Now available in public beta. https://vercel.com/changelog/chat-sdk

Vercel AI Gateway now supports video generation. Grok Imagine Video & Image are 🆓 until tomorrow. We used @v0 to create an open source Creative Studio powered by @xai Grok. Create images, videos, or make your own design tool! https://v0-grokstudio.vercel.app – it's quite fast. Some cool technical tidbits: ▪️ Vercel Workflows for reliable generation Video generation can take long. Users might restart their browsers or their wifi / LTE might drop. We smooth over that automatically. ▪️ Instant vector search Try searching the public generations. Now back to me. We used @mixedbreadai to index the content visually, so you can search 𝚋𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚏𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚎 and get a cat (try it!) ▪️ Vercel AI Gateway All existing and future Grok models are accessible via our gateway without extra setup. When you deploy to Vercel, you get access to hundreds of models with a single account and unified billing It's obviously built with @nextjs (RSC). Open it in v0 to make it your own! h/t @estebansuarez for shipping this.

I started the @nextjs you know today from a 𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙳𝙼𝙴.𝚖𝚍 specification. That was the singular commit that set it on the trajectory you see today. We proceeded to furiously write code for weeks as we saw a unique window to disrupt the React ecosystem, which primarily consisted of "boilerplate" repos and static-only tooling. I now believe most software (and companies) will start out as markdown files, but it's agents that will be doing the furious coding. And the releasing. And the maintenance. I'm pretty happy that the API we laid out is as relevant as ever today. It's simple, filesystem focused, and its principles remain unchanged. http://v0-nextjs-hello-world.vercel.app

"Creation as a Service" will always beat "Software as a Service". I don't want your lowest-common-denominator software. I want software to work for me and meet my needs. I want platforms and infrastructure. To me, Slack is a good example of an ideal in-between of SaaS and Platform. I have zero interest in vibe coding my own Slack. (It's also particularly difficult software to perfect and scale, and if you disagree you have no idea how to build software 🤡). I do have a strong interest in extending Slack with our own agents. As I shared yesterday, more of our company runs on Slack-based "@" agents. We're making it easier than ever to deploy Slack agents on Vercel, with our AI infrastructure (gateway, workflows, sandbox, etc), starting with @v0. A lot of SaaS might be cooked, but Salesforce has a generational re-birth opportunity with Slack.

The future of design is… engineering. All designers at @vercel now also build, thanks to tools like @v0, Claude Code, and Cursor. They've been contributing to our frontends and apps for a while now. But over the past few months, the leap they've made is engineering the design process itself by building agents. A big part of shipping is getting the word out in a compelling way, especially on the @x platform, the everything app. In the past, we used to spend a bunch of time hand-crafting images and illustrations for social cards. Our design team built an internal agent and web ui using @v0 and Claude Code that makes this process fully self-serve. It even includes a previewer of what the final artifact will look like on X. It's called Leap. It's probably saved us hundreds of hours of work but also massively raised our quality bar. The artifacts it produces are beautiful. If you had asked me even 12 months ago whether our design team would be building their own design tools, let alone be this good, I would call bs. There was no master plan, or God forbid, a "sprint" to make this happen. It just took a handful of prompts to build and it propagated on Slack. Leap is now one of the many agents that helps us run our company more smoothly, built and securely deployed on @vercel for our internal use.

Our goal is to operate like the world's largest startup. One of our new colleagues told me today that what she loves the most about Vercel is how few meetings we have and how fast she can ship. And that at her previous job she was so asphyxiated by meetings that she could only get time to think and do deep work "at 8pm". Most companies are still operating with the legacy frameworks and operating rituals of the pre-AI, pre-agents "stone age". We don't just want to build self-driving software and infrastructure, but also amplify your own individual autonomy and impact of your contribution. If you want to meaningfully accelerate your career: http://vercel.com/careers

@Tony Vantur

@rauchg @vercel You guys ship like you are a startup and you have hundreds of employees. There are few 'larger' companies I would consider working for as I love startups. Vercel is top of that list. Keep making all of our lives better please!

AI is an amplifier of your intellect and values. A mirror of your soul. If you were a confirmation bias person, AI can be catastrophic for you. There’s some way to contort almost any prompt to give you the answer you’re looking for. The extreme version of this is AI psychosis. If you’re a “more is more” product company, then you’ll inundate yourself in garbage. Imagine joining a company that invented a custom operating system, programming language, and every kind of app they need just because they can. I’m somewhat conflicted here. The more software gets produced, the more Vercel benefits. It all needs to be built, hosted, secured, and scaled. And yet I don’t think every single line of code is worth your company producing. Play the long term game.

From now on, hype-centric splashy launches will likely be strongly uncorrelated with success. If by the time you launch you don’t have escape velocity, you will likely get Sybil attacked¹. Agents will spin up 10 competing products with your same interface. Start with an audience of 1 and get confirmation that it works. Then expand to a circle of friends or design partners. By the time you go public, your moat needs to be deeper than it’s ever been. ¹ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sybil_attack

We will see within our lifetime the rise of young supergeniuses that far surpass previous generations in both intellect and demonstrable accomplishments. There’s never been a better time to start a company. If you’re a founder, this is an opportunity to have access to the Vercel team, investors and $6M in credits. A new class of companies is emerging. Smaller, flatter, faster growing, autonomous. Agentic. I encourage you to apply not just with an idea of what to build, but also how to build it.

@Vercel

The Vercel AI Accelerator is so back. Join 40 teams for 6 weeks of learning, building, and shipping with over $6M in credits from Vercel, v0, AWS, and other leading AI platforms. Applications open now until February 16th. https://vercel.com/blog/the-vercel-ai-accelerator-is-so-back

The new engineering is building the agents that "take your job", but now do it at 100x the scale. Agents give developers horizontal scalability. The simple version of this is Ghostty splits and tabs, 𝚝𝚖𝚞𝚡 sessions and the like, running CLI agents in parallel. Skills and MCPs help you direct the behavior of these agents. Sandboxes give the ultimate leverage: ~infinite parallelism, run while you sleep, on PRs, when an incident is filed, a customer reports an issue… Automating the full product development loop is now your job, and your edge.

Gas Town, Clawdbot, Moltbook, Ralph, CLIs, terminals on your phone, AI operating systems, self-mutating code… The coolest thing AI has brought us is the feeling of endless possibility, just like the internet once did. In my career it’s served me to well to lean into the eccentricity and embrace the edges. Enjoy these times, try it all out, ship cool things.

Even when the AI can't help, the overall UX is better (we auto-fill the ticket form). Last week I had my "CEO supports day". It's now clear to me that: 1️⃣ Every single legitimate support case will be automated by AI. As in: the customer needs guidance. 2️⃣ The remainder of tickets will be triaged and prioritized by our AI PM for coding agents to work on As far as 1️⃣ goes, as we continue to fine tune our agent, evals, models, and data sources, we are confident we can achieve near 100% resolution. Because we built and deployed our support agent on @vercel, we have full control over its destiny (screenshot below). The issue is that customers sometimes reach out to report complex product issues or even defects. As in: the product itself needs improvement! The only way to help that customer is to fix our stuff 😄 This is how the era of autonomous software improvement begins. A customer reporting a problem needs to ultimately result in code changes. For most companies, this flywheel doesn't exist. Support teams get overwhelmed, root causes don't get identified, documentation doesn't improve, incidents don't get filed. In this future, every single time you reach out to us, you'll be very directly contributing to our platform getting better.

Every Friday I host a fireside chat at Vercel. Today's guest was the inimitable @steipete, of C̶l̶a̶w̶d̶b̶o̶t̶ M̶o̶l̶t̶b̶o̶t̶ OpenClaw¹ fame. He blew me away. Beyond the spectacular success of the project, it was eye-opening to dive into his agentic engineering process and style. Like many in the newest generation of AI-native developers, Pete didn't have direct experience with Next.js nor Vercel when building http://openclaw.ai or http://clawhub.ai. He just prompted them into existence. His take on what skills are valuable in the new world resonated with mine: deep understanding of how systems and architecture fit together. The implementation and code-writing is the agent's job. We also got a glimpse of his long-term vision which is even cooler than what we've all seen so far. ¹Oh, and we brainstormed the next rename 😂

This ◉ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ ○ ᴍᴀᴄʜɪɴᴇ toggle by @p0 is brilliant. It's a beautiful illustration of what the web will "look like" to agents. It will look like a whole lotta markdown 😄 Incidentally, we just made it such that http://vercel.com/changelog links automatically render as markdown when agents consume it (we do the same for /𝚍𝚘𝚌𝚜). Page went from 500kb to 2kb. The web for agents will be very efficient! Try: curl -H 'accept: text/markdown' https://vercel.com/changelog/tag-based-cache-invalidation-now-available-for-all-responses

When our v0 iOS app came out, people thought it was a polished SwiftUI or ObjC app, but it was React Native. But ofc that’s not every RN app. It embodied the craftsmanship, obsession, and years of experience from @fernandorojo. Our instinct was to write an eng blog post, which was a big hit. But it’s very hard to translate that into code and real-world results. Blogs are great, but they don’t “scale” like frameworks and libraries do. Skills are different. They’re experience you can install.

RT Naval On Scott Adams. A man finds, to his astonishment, that he exists. After the elation of childhood wears off, he asks, who am I, why am I here, how does this work? These are hard questions, so after a brief struggle, he selects a readymade answer and goes about the motions of life. Scott Adams was not such a man. He was a live player, ever curious, intent on figuring out this simulation that he found himself in. From first principles, Scott unraveled, understood, and ultimately controlled his own reality. He hacked himself with affirmations, others with persuasion, the world with simultaneous sips. He explained people as moist robots, two movies happening on one screen, his world as Gods’ debris. He carved a personal mission to “be useful,” and made us all better writers, public speakers, and persuaders. He preached the footwear theory of motivation, the Adams Law of slow-moving disasters, the skill stack, systems over goals, and of course, the Dilbert Principle. Besides cartooning, philosophizing, and teaching, Scott rose to the occasion and displayed, “the one virtue that cannot be faked” - courage. Scott had the courage to speak honestly as he saw it - about Trump, about his nation, and about his time, even though it cost him friends, audience, money, and his ticket to polite society. Scott had true courage, the kind that makes you unpopular, the kind that is always and everywhere in short supply, At the end, as any hacker of reality, Scott covered all of his bases - he left as a Buddhist, a Christian, and a player in the Simulation. Scott, we didn’t get enough time with you, but you were a mentor and a marvel. You were useful and you were courageous. You were incompressible and indivisible. One of a kind, and generous with your drawing, writing, and speaking. Unlike your squealing critics in the chattering class, you will be read generations from now. On this earth there are many long-lived hells but no lasting heaven. Each heaven must be created a...
