By the time the earn out was over, he only saw $6M of the $8M total earn out, and the company had grown under his post-acquisition leadership to $8M ARR. So he sold a company for $2M lump and ultimately sacrificed owning a company now doing the same revenue as the entire sale price (meaning he could have made the same in revenue from maintaining ownership, or sold at a much higher price only a couple years later). This story is all too familiar to exited founders. It's much easier to look back and think about what you'd do differently if given the chance. But instead of living with regret, he now builds indie products that do $1M in revenue every month and give him the exact post exit life he wants, full of freedom and flexibility. And best of all, he makes a ton of money still. So fear of the exit money running out is irrelevant because he built an indie portfolio of recurring revenue 100x his personal spending, every single month. genuinely don't understand the hype for higgsfield their new "Super Computer" seemed incredible, beautiful marketing tried it it created 2 seedance videos I asked it to clip them together got me to subscription screen 🤷‍♂️ it cost me 20% of my $49 subscription, so $10 the raw cost is about $1 so they resell this for x10 the price the value in Revid seems x10 better ✅ prompt it and it's done ✅ you don't have to clip sequences elsewhere ✅ full edit capabilities, a real video editor ✅ no scammy/shady pricing tactics
